The problem: Akilah's original concrete was past saving — a cracked front stair run, a crumbling side walkway, and an L-shaped porch with weeds in every joint. Worse than the looks: the old slab had cracked and settled so it sloped back toward the house, holding water against the structure and rotting the wood it touched. The porch fence wasn't anchored to anything solid either.
What we did: We tore out roughly 382 square feet of failing concrete — porch, patio, side walkway, and the full stair run — then fixed what was underneath before pouring anything: regraded the whole footprint to drain away from the house, built a proper compacted base, and poured it all back new with clean edges and fresh planting beds. The fence got anchored to the new work, and the bottom three steps weren't in the original scope — we rebuilt them anyway at no extra charge so the whole run matches.
The result: A crisp, safe, all-new front entry that sheds water away from the house instead of into it. Akilah left us a five-star review — and says her friends and family will be referred ASAP.
